Description
Jupiter One plies way-tight new-wave rock, ranging from crisp up-tempo tunes to more eccentric, almost hip-hoppy tracks. Whatever the setting, the local quintet really slathers on the synths, giving its music a pervasive '80s feel. Tonight the group plays behind a new disc, Sunshower. Former Hissyfits members Sivan Harlap and Karen Correa form the rhythmic backbone of Demander. The dynamic outfit dazzles with angular off-time rock songs, in the vein of Sleater-Kinney, that are publicly poppy but secretly proggy.
