KONKERÜTE was formed in the summer of 2015. When four friends got tired of waiting... Waiting for the fire in our hearts to cool... Waiting for the songs in our head to fade to memory... Waiting to set up, tune up, and play the songs in our souls. A phonetic derivative of John the Conquer Root, KONKERÜTE looks to encapsulate the unbroken spirit and elusive nature of our namesake.

What do we sound like? If you're lucky, it's the hardest thing you'll be asked as a band. Even luckier if you struggle to answer it. We are asked this question often and generally struggle to answer it. The answer usually consists of heavy-bluesy-grungy-groovy-bayou-rock, or some derivative of these. We have never once answered with the name of another band, which would be an insult to both of our senses of unique creative energy. We do what we do because of who we our as individuals within the context of our four piece band. A riff, a bass line, a beat, a thought, an observation, a chuckle, any or all of these enough to be the catalyst for a good song. Aware of our surroundings and the world we live in, but not on a crusade. Taking our music more serious than we take ourselves. Genuine in our approach and proud of our product.
