"Leon Waldo"

Lullaby has an old-school ballad feel. Better Days is a sweet love song with an abiding optimism. Waldo's high-range capability and gift for dynamics is on exhibit in All We Need Is Love. - Music Connection Magazine

"Changing Hearts and Minds with Music"

By Andrea Bolt

In his own words, Leon Waldo just wants to watch the world groove.

The budding singer-songwriter looks hand-picked for an episode of the television program “Glee” in his black, button-down with the sleeves stylishly rolled up, a black vest and matching skinny jeans that serve to make the neon blue of his tucked-in tie and hipster glasses pop.

With the attitude, talent and drive inspired by Prince, Beyonce and Alicia Keys, the self-taught pianist, singer and drummer, it’s almost certain that Rachel Berry would detest him on sight.

She would also likely be very jealous of his piano skills.

Bio

Soulful, expressive, and undeniably creative are just a few ways to describe Leon Waldo’s music. Known for his dynamically queer R&B style, the songwriter and producer draws showgoers in with captivating visuals that accompany his performances. With Waldo’s versatile discography, he commands concert halls with bass pounding music, yet allows listeners in for intimate moments.

Waldo has collaborated with various writers, producers, and performers; notably Prince Charles Alexander (Engineer of Bad Boy Records, Sean Combs) and he opened for Anna Wise (Writer for Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly, DAMN.). He produced and co-wrote the title tracks for Michael Alexander’s debut record, Living In Imagination and prominent Boston singer Marcela Cruz’s EP, Fight For It, as well as, scored the music of four theatrical stage plays; all performed in Houston-based theatre companies.

Waldo continues to write and produce for multiple artists and released his new EP, PARIAH., in May 2018.
