"Lick My Soul and the ‘wow’ factor"

“People have said we reminded them of the Talking Heads,” Feldmen says. “One of our greatest compliments is that we don’t sound the same on every song. Every song is different.”

Their influences don’t seem to come from anywhere in particular. McKenna and McNew are both huge KISS fans, while Feldmen was listening to Mozart prior to this interview. And although Feldmen, who has moonlighted as a comedian, can’t pinpoint a specific influence, he admits that some of his songwriting comes out of his stand-up routine.

“I like it when we play a song and people get it and laugh,” Feldmen says.

Lick My Soul had their first rehearsal about eight months ago, and already they’ve headlined shows in Philadelphia. With a full-length CD expected for spring 2017, Lick My Soul plans on taking their ‘wow’ factor as far as they can. - at the shore

Bio

Indie Rock trio Lick My Soul fell into place quite naturally. Kelly McKenna and Iggy Feldmen met, and began dating, because of their shared love of music. They were toying with the idea of putting together an acoustic act. In the meantime, Kelly brought her son, Shane, over to Iggy's place to jam with them. After a couple nights of playing covers, Iggy suggested they try one of his original songs. Within minutes, Kelly and Shane added their touches to the song, and "N.R.G." was born! Each song after that was just as effortless as the first, and it became clear that they were on to something. Just over a month later, Lick My Soul made their debut in Atlantic City, NJ, and two and half months after that, they went into the studio to record an EP containing the six original songs they started with. They finished recording four more songs because their producer suggested they complete an LP! They have been referred to as the “Punk Partridge Family” by a DJ at WLFR Stockton University Radio, where they get regular airplay!
