Long Live Mortal God

Born March 31, 1992, in Mt. Clemens, MI, Terrel “Rello” Shack aka Long Live Mortal God started singing at 4 years old. Finding inspiration in the wide-variety of artists and genres he was exposed to growing up, Long Live Mortal God brings each and every bit of that inspiration to his unique, new-age style of hip-hop. Long Live Mortal God says he was, “born with a song in [his] heart” and he wants to share that song with the world.

Long Live Mortal God, his stage persona, was inspired by a verse from the Bible (Psalms 82:6-7) “Ye are gods, and all of you are children of the most high, but ye shall die like men.” Starting first as just “Mortal God,” he sought to juxtapose our mortal limitations, with our God-given “god-like” abilities. Specifically, how we can actively work to create and shape our own realities similar to abilities of our creator. “Long Live” was added after the death of Jaseh Onfroy (XXXTENTACION) to pay homage to the late hip-hop innovator. It also describes his personal goal to leave his lasting mark on humanity, creating a movement that will guide future generations.

Latest release, “Welcome Death” is less about death, and more about living each day to its fullest, leaving no opportunity on the table, and really ridding yourself of the fear of death. Routed in his belief in reincarnation, he stresses that death is merely one stop along an infinite journey and welcoming it is not welcoming your end, but welcoming the next leg of your journey.
