Bio
Michelle Morris affectionately known as Lyriq is a 23-year-old openly gay singer/songwriter born as a twin on September 9,1993 in Tappahannock,Va. Following in her father's footsteps, who is the lead singer of a gospel group "Morris Family Gospel Singers" she started writing and singing at the age of 12. Joining the church choir and learning how to play the piano as well as the saxophone, it was then that she realized she had the ability to sing.
Lyriq always dreamed of becoming a performer participating in several talent shows in school. Having being inspired by artists such as Chris Brown, Sammie, The Dream, Avant, Trey Songz, and Mario. It took the untimely tragic death of her sister Kristi back in August 2014, to make her start taking music more seriously.
In July 2015 she released her first mixtape "Lovely Angel" in dedication to her sister. Since the release of her first mixtape, she has traveled to several states including Maryland and North Carolina. Lyriq has opened up for Chris Scholar, performed for Def Jam, and had the opportunity to perform at CIAA. Lyriq has also worked with grammy nominated music executive Kevin Shine and got special recognition from Atlantic Records own Walter Randall at the "I Am A Business Music Conference".
