About Marc Douglas Berardo

Marc Douglas Berardo (whose close friends and rivals call him 'MDB' for short) makes his living playing his made up songs all over the place with what Minor Seventh Magazine calls his: 'lonesome and clear voice.' His songs have been recognized in many of the country's biggest song contest and awards including The Rocky Mountain Folks Festival (CO), The Telluride Troubadour Contest (CO), Sisters Folk Festival (OR), Suwannee Springfest Song Contest (FL), The Wildflower Arts Festival (TX) and The Plowshares Song Contest (PA). Berardo has made a good noise touring the country playing listening rooms, dancehalls, theaters, coffee shops and bars and shared stages with acts such as Steve Forbert, Red Molly, The New Riders of the Purple Sage, Pierce Pettis, Tim O'Brien, The Kennedys, Guy Clark, The Marshall Tucker Band, Sister Kate Taylor, The Phenomenal Ruthie Foster, Cliff Eberhardt, Justin Townes Earle, Little Feat, Kevin Welch, The Pousette Dart Band, Elien Jewell,John Haitt, Catie Curtis, Livingston Taylor and others. Berardo has been a recent guest on many radio programs (Profiles in Folk, Sessions at Centenary, New Jersey Public Radio and the legendary "Folk Music with Gene Shay" on WXPN, Philadelphia, PA) as well as television shows (Fox TV's Good Morning Austin, ABC's Low Country Live) His latest, DOWNHAULER, will be released on HMG Records in the Fall of 2010. When not traveling to shows in his KIA car, Berardo lives in a fortified and secluded compound near the ocean in Westerly, Rhode Island.
"Berardo sounds like a fishing-town Bruce Springsteen (in Nebraska mode), a soft-toned Don Henley, or a James Taylor with a literary side. The comparisons to singer-songwriter greats are infinite. They're also apt."-Fairfield County Weekly, CT.
