All in a day (NYC) & The Secret Service

No better place to wake up to the first day of Fall than in NYC. Sitting here in the hotel lobby just 2 blocks from the UN, which is session. There are secret service dudes everywhere from all different countries hanging in every corner of the lobby. Seems like every 10 minutes there is a convoy heading down 42nd escorted by NYPD. Well, we had a great weekend of shows in NC & SC and now we are heading home. We had to leave the kids & pets at home with the Nanny, so things were much more quiet on the road. So last tour we called it the ‘Chipotle’ tour cause we ate Chipotle like almost every day we were out. This time, we need to call it the ‘Rush to get there’ tour because it has been really a rush every night to get to where we are playing. From Auburn we went to Charleston, SC. Back in Auburn for less than 24 hours

We made it from Chicago to Lake Martin in Alabama yesterday in just enough time! We left right after our show on Sunday night in downtown Chicago which was about 10:30pm. We got a coffee and hit the road with Indianapolis as our target. We arrived there about 2am, then got up at 7am to get back on the road by 8. Thankfully, the beds at the hotel were comfy and so we had a super charged power sleep.… (read more)

We are in Michigan! It’s been a crazy 24 hours. We left Nashville yesterday morning on what we thought was a 6 hour trip to Goshen, Indiana. We left yesterday on an 11 day tour with the kids, babysitter, dog and cat all in tow. Our first show was last night at Smith’s Olde Bar in Atlanta. We love that place! We shared the stage with some great songwriters, Sydney Eloise, Jessica Cayne & Patrick Scott. It really was a great night. We did a hotwire for our accommodations last night and for $55 got put at the Hilton. Not a bad first night… (read more)

We moved to Auburn, AL from Hamilton, Ontario, well this year will be six years ago! One of the biggest questions we get asked, especially at home is “Why Auburn?”. A friend of our's has a 7 year old who has written the words to a song and she has asked us to put some music to it and record it. We have just finished the arrangement on it and will spend the weekend recording the guitars and percussion. She is giving the final version to him as a birthday gift! What a great idea. (read more)

So thank God October is over! That had to be the worst month of the year for us. The kids and I were sick all month it seemed. One thing after another....ear infections, colds, bronchitis...I had a cough for 3 weeks! I know everyone is dealing with this right now, and I feel your pain. We spent the day walking the streets in Toronto yesterday before heading to Burlington, ON for the Annual RibFest. My friend Lisa and I went on a little girls trip to B'ham over the weekend! We left Saturday afternoon and got to my friend Vickey's in enough time to color her hair and then go out. I recently sold a house (I got my real estate license last fall, but that's a nother story) to a couple that had been living in an RV for the past year and half. Before they bought the RV, they sold their house and sold most of their 'stuff' or gave it away. The RV literally became their home.They travelled all over the US & Canada including Alaska! Chris has produced several MT records and is also a nationally recognized songwriter. Well, we made it back from the beach without sunburns! Thank the Lord there is now spf 70.
