Back in Auburn for less than 24 hoursPosted By from July 5, 2011We made it from Chicago to Lake Martin in Alabama yesterday in just enough time! We left right after our show on Sunday night in downtown Chicago which was about 10:30pm. We got a coffee and hit the road with Indianapolis as our target. We arrived there about 2am, then got up at 7am to get back on the road by 8. Thankfully, the beds at the hotel were comfy and so we had a super charged power sleep. So we all felt good. We got to the show and had a great time there. There was rain in the forecast, and so about half way through our set, the bottom dropped out of the sky. This was a big 4th of July celebration, so the rain was not welcomed, but that didn’t seem to stop everyone from staying to enjoy the music and fireworks. We knew we would only be in Auburn for a short time, so after our set we took off. It was a gorgeous spot to see the fireworks, but we were ready to get home after a long drive. So Rob and I got to the house about 9:30, unpacked, ate some dinner and got to chill out in an empty house. No kids, no animals, a night off!! This is where we realized we might have to move…. We have some college students that live beside us in our townhouse. We’ve had different issues with them over the last couple years like them throwing parties and being loud and making all kinds of noise till the wee hours of the morning, having a dog that barked constantly when they would leave that was so annoying, etc… So last night, Rob and I as I said were just hanging out and trying to unwind, listening to music, and here comes college student neighbor whom we’ve had to put up with having parties all the time 2 years ago, knocking at our door at 11:30pm and telling us the music is too loud and they have class in the am!!! First of all, it’s July 4th and there is still the noise of fireworks going off in the area, it’s not even midnight, and she’s like 21 years old!!!! ???? It’s not like we had the think cranked, otherwise it wouldn’t have been relaxing for us. Wow. Never in a million years would I have thought at our age, we would have our 21 year old neighbor complain about music!!! So we leave to go get coffee this morning at about 10am, and the girls are just leaving for school. ???!!??? Get up early for a class eh? Needless to say, I am so glad to be already back on the road. We left about 6:30 tonight to go back up north to Canada. I’m excited to see the kids and of course my family. We’ve got a couple shows Hamilton and then 1 in Buffalo, so that should be fun!! We’ll be up here for just over a week! Tim Horton’s here I come!!! |
