Martha's Trouble

Starting to get settled into 2011 a bit and really getting excited about the release of our NEW album Anchor Tattoo that drops on Feb. 1, 2011.  This will be the 10th album we have released and certainly the one we are MOST proud of.  For the first time we feel like we are ahead of the madness that surrounds self releasing a new title and trying to do it on a national scale.  It’s been nice letting the project pace itself to the finish line.  More to come on this subject.

Every year since we have moved to Auburn, AL we have always gone to Canada (Hamilton, Ontario) to visit family at Christmas. This year was no different other than we decided to drive! It’s an 18hr trip driving. I-85 to I-75 cross in Detroit and take 401 to Hamilton, ON.  We left Christmas day, you know the day that massive eastern storm hit Atlanta. Needless to say we had to stop for the night in Knoxville, TN. Coming home, we left Canada early and drove straight through getting into Auburn around 11pm. The kids were great little travelers, very blessed for that!

Canada was great. Weather was mild, no snow :( . Actually the day after we left they got 4inches.  We got to go spend a nite in Toronto for Rob’s birthday. We stayed right across the street from Nathan Phillips Square which is where the big New Year’s Eve festivities go down. Similar to the ball dropping in NYC but on a much smaller scale.

We have been back 2 days and have done all the typical cleaning out and re organizing. All the norm that goes along with closing out a year and getting ready to a new year. 

Off topic. Tim McGraw was just on Late Night w/ Jimmy Fallon promoting “Country Strong”. What a cool dude, great interview. Definitely a movie we are going to see when it comes out.
