Bio

Though newly reformed in 2015, Match Party has a long history in Northern NJ with various lineups and many shows under its belt. Previous releases include the "Open Hand" EP in 2001 and a full-length CD entitled "We Can Go Where We Wish" in 2006. Match Party's strengths and uniqueness lie in not being tied down to one genre or sound, and this comes across clearly in their new EP, "Grey Fields", which was released on 2/29/16.

Match Party got back together with a mix of old and new members, and a new, spirited sound. Historically, Match Party was mostly a three-piece outfit, but the addition of keyboards provided further depth and greater emphasized Match Party's new wave roots, while also remaining rooted in punk, metal and indie influence. All four members have a history of playing in various bands in North Jersey throughout the years. Recent shows were played in NYC as well as NJ and PA. Notable shows were at The Bowery Electric, The Cake Shop, and several gigs at The Clash Bar in NJ. The band is currently booking shows in NYC and NJ, and hopes to gain new fans (both young and old).

Influences include Joy Division, The Cure, Fugazi, Pink Floyd, ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead, among many, many others.
