Put on a House Concert. It is good recession entertainment.

image Kevin Montgomery is a bit of a touring and house concert animal.  I mean, 50 States In 50 Days' come on!!! His most recent blog post explains why house concerts.  I am both in awe and envious of his ability and fan base to pull this off.

I played a house concert a few weeks ago and did a few last year.  Now I am speaking with several listeners and friends, each in different cities around the US, about playing in their home.

One thing I can tell you' it beats playing a bar and competing with the 3 drunks at the table in front of the stage.

Kevin writes about the current economic concerns being a potential boost to the house concert idea. Hes right on this.

Also, when people understand that you dont have to spend a bunch of money or lots of time/effort to put one on ' and it is an amazing and unique evening ' they become very interested.

I created my own free guide to house concerts for this reason.  Currently I am updating it with more detailed explanation of how to use evites and eventbrite.com to notify and register attendees.

Last year I wanted to host a house concert with Kevin ' either in Arizona or in California ' but life did not cooperate ("nuf said"). This year I plan on touring a lot but might still see what I can put together.

If you are interested in finding out more about house concerts, do not hesitate to contact me. Or keep searching online ' a lot of performers and hosts write about them.
