L.A. showsPosted By Mir from Portland,OR November 13, 2010I've heard from a lot of people that it's risky for us to spend money on going down to LA to play. My most recent experience couldn't be any further from the truth. I got to play with such incredible players--a drummer I'd never met before, and a bassist and keyboard player I'd only had the chance to play 4 songs with at a previous gig. Let me name drop for a moment. Feel free to go their websites. Loren Gold was the keyboardist.Check out his videos from his tour w/ Roger Daltry on his website! David Sutton, the bassist, will be back out on the road w/ Lucinda Williams very soon.I've never heard our song The River played as if it was owned by the bassist. David now OWNS it! Craig Macintyre on drums, whom I had never met until a 1/2 hour before the first show, came in fresh off the Colbie Callait tour and is also Josh Groban's drummer. Did I say we hadn't rehearsed? KILLER!! Steve Postell, as many of you know, mixed our Indians And Clowns album and plays guitar w/ us when we're in LA. And of course, Mark was stellar as usual. I know I'm going on excessively about this group of players, but for me, to have these guys backing me and supporting me while I sing, was just far more than hip. It was an experience that I'd like plenty more of. So L.A., we'll be back. That's what i'm sayin. Peace.
