Lots and lots of news news news

November 13, 2011

There's a lot happening! Where to start?!

Mir has been busy taking part in Occupy Portland, joining in mass rallies and protests as well as bringing MW songs to the people. We will post videos on our FB page for you at https://www.facebook.com/miriamswellmusic

We just finished a new Occupy tune called Union Song, co-written with our friends from Philadelphia, The Turnips. While we've been playing the song live, the session isn't yet available, but the coast to coast recording is coming out soon. The video idea for the song is to have our friends at Occupy sites everywhere sing and tape Union Song and all of the videos will be edited together. Will post when we have it. Unite.

We just got back from Yakima,WA for a show at Bill's Place. Not only were they blown away by the band, but they've asked us back for full weekend shows once a month. Dates TBA.

Boise's been going really well at Tom Grainey's. We're heading back for another full weekend of shows there on 12/2 an 12/3. These will be ongoing as well.

Looks like we're also receiving heavy interest from festivals for the Spring/Summer 2012. Fests TBA

And SXSW plans are in the making. We're waiting to see how many showcases we'll be doing in Austin and the tour is coming together for that as we write. Looks like we might just have sponsorship to provide a bus/gas/rooms for us this year. It's not a done deal yet, but please keep your fingers crossed for us!

There's a special show coming up on Nov 26th in Portland called The Next Waltz. It's a re-make of the The Band's, The Last Waltz. We will be one of 3 house bands for the night playing 8 songs with 8 different singers. The same goes for the rest of the night with the other bands. This is a concert not to miss if you're in Portland. https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=220500291346009&ref=ts

That's it for now. More news coming soon!

Peace and love.
