Mountain Animation

Mountain Animation was created in the Lower East Side of New York City in 2012 when Zack Orion and Scott Murphy met in the Delancey St. subway station with their instruments.  They put on a concert for the train riders and decided that it went quite well and put Zack's banjo and foot drums and Scott's violin and some tube amps and stomp boxes into a vehicle and carved a groove in the Interstates to the West Coast and started making friends and music everywhere.  The distinctive flavor of the acoustic banjo and violin through analog effects pedals and loud creamy tube amps put them in an interesting position of being able to fit into different genre orientated shows and they've had the pleasure of sharing stages with everything from soft dreamy acoustic indie bands to hardcore punk bands.  They've recorded two studio albums produced Kyle Pulley and Joe Reinhart at The Headroom Philadelphia, the studio behind Algernon Cadwalleder, Dangerous Ponies and Hop Along along with several other east coast underground hits.
