Bio

MR. GROOVE (GROOVE THE BOSS)
The Groove Nation invasion has begun. Born in New Orleans and raised in Denver, Mr. Groove continued to move west to Los Angeles, where he is gaining notoriety among hip hop circles for his strong lyrical content and smooth, resonating voice.
Mr. Groove began his recording career in 1996 with his first song, “10 Paces”. Influenced by artists like Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Scarface, Biggie, Jay Z, and more, he went on to complete several projects including “Shake Em”, “The Chosen One” (street single), and Cooked Raw: Volume 1, between 2004 and 2006. In 2009, Mr. Groove completed Cooked Raw: Volume 2, weaving his experiences from his past into his lyrics to paint a vivid and compelling picture of life on the street. Most recently, in December 2010, he released “Rydah” (street single) which is to be released on iTunes.

Bringing his west coast sound with a soulful twist from the south, Mr. Groove has opened for numerous artists including 50 Cent and GUnit, Eminem, Ludacriss, Snoop Dogg and the Dogg Pound, The Outlaw Immortals, Brother Lynch Hung and Glasses Malone.
Boss Muzik was released in 2012 and has helped to usher in the era of lyrical gangsta music. The first single from Boss Muzik "I Run This" has received positive reviews and is a crowd favorite where ever Mr. Groove performs.

Groove spent the next few years behind the scenes running his label Hangman Recordings, nurturing his stable of young talent.  He also took the time to study music theory and music production which he immediately transferred to his new projects.  Cooked Raw Volume III followed in December 2018 showing a fierce focus on expanding the artistry of his music.

The sessions for the 2nd installment of the Boss Muzik trilogy actually netted 2 full length albums.  First Independent King was released in December of 2019 containing the hit single Hate To Love It feat. B. Touch as well as Passion and Dreamin which showcases one of the young talents Groove has placed his stock behind named Leona Harper.  Boss Muzik II: The Rise Of Charlie Hoover was released on June 19, 2020 and promises to be the best offering yet from Groove The Boss.
