Damn dirty apesPosted By Dim from July 29, 2011
Alas, poor myspace...I knew you well. But I fear that the time for us has passed. Seriously though, I think that my patience has run out with the dinosaur that, once upon a time was an invaluable tool for bands and musicians - but now seems like a relic from a bygone age. As Brett Anderson once sang 'Nothing here works but your works and I mean it, I have to leave". The straw that broke the camel's toe was not being able to upload a new track - more in a second - kept getting 'processing errors' - I mean, really? Ah well, we'll keep the page active (for the time being, but my patience is not infinite - although maybe Justin Trousersnake's influence will turn it around?), but if you're wanting to hear new recorded output, you'll have to look elsewhere. Like on soundcloud, for example - www.soundcloud.com/nineplanfailed - where you'll find something that we've actually finished! Taken from a session that we recorded back in April of this year, 'Mad world' is one of three tracks that we recorded with the capable Jim White of Lakeside studios/BRFM.
(have you watched it yet? all the way through?
...liar!)
Those of you that did actually watch the video the whole way through will have been exposed to the announcement (which, btw is probably the worst kept secret ever - but what can you do? We were excited by the news and wanted to share it!) that - nineplanfailed will be releasing their debut EP on Death Monkey Records - late in 2011 That's right! We've hooked up with an honest to goodness record label and we're going to be recording and releasing an EP later in the year! We're incredibly excited about this development. We'll be Death Monkey Records' third release, following Adam Avit and Conductors. In DMR's own words: Death Monkey is committed to helping to create and develop a larger, more active Alternative music scene in South Wales. We want to capture the coolest music from bands on the current underground scene and bring it to the ears of the nation and beyond,to allow bands to concentrate on making the music and make sure the fans hear it. Run by Dan Rowley and Dave Milsom, two of the nicest, and most laid back guys that you could want to meet, the label may be small, but has a genuine mission to get music that excites them to as big as audience as possible. And we're on it! We're due to record in early September, with a hopeful release date towards the end of the year. Don't worry though, we'll keep you posted with updates! In other news:
Right then; those gigs I mentioned... Saturday 30th July - Buffalo Bar, Cardiff (supporting We are the Afterglow) That's all folks - have a listen to the Mad World demo on Soundcloud, let us know what you think! Later, Dim
