Damn your eyes, Mr KhrushchevPosted By Dim from October 15, 2010Good Friday to you all! As I type I'm listening to Chris Moyles' recent(ish) on-air 'rant' about not being paid. Not sure that his show was the most appropriate way to air his displeasure, but what do I know? After all, I just push buttons and go on conference calls, and get involved with projects that I know little about...I'm certainly not the 'Saviour of Radio 1'! All of this is leading up to this; I recently was required to go to London with my job. The area designated for smoking outside is on the corner of Great Portland Street and Clipstone Street - directly opposite some Radio 1 offices. During a break, I accompanied colleagues outside for a cigarette - I don't smoke, btw, but am always up for a break. If I'd had an npf CD on me, I may well have approached him, and asked him nicely if he'd consider playing it, or passing it on to Zane Lowe...only to have my dreams shattered as he told me to frak off. But enough of my celebrity crossed lifestyle - I'm sure you don't want to hear me babble on about it...you want to know about what's happening with your favourite band! Well, apologies but I can only tell you about what's happening with nineplanfailed (that was a joke!) (I'm now listening to an XTC compilation album. More than one person has mentioned that npf remind them of XTC, and that I sound like XTC's lead singer, Andy Partridge. I really can't hear it, but each to their own!) So! This coming Tuesday (19th October), we'll be making the journey to Brighton's, or Lewes' (to be more precise) very own Yellowfish Recording studios to hook up with Lance from Darling Waste - for it is he that will be recording/producing a couple of new tracks for us. Its been a while - the best part of a year! - since we last recorded anything...shameful. Where has the year gone? In fact, the last time we did record, it was for a session we did for BRFM. Hands up if you remember that? No? Well the good news is that we've managed to get another session with BRFM, to be broadcast on Wednesday 1st December. Mark it in your diaries - it would be great to get more viewers than last time (which was literally in the 1's). We played for our third time in Treforest's Green Rooms last Friday (hi Wayne and Vicky!) alongside Llanelli's Cut Ribbons (good sounds, nice people) and headliners Laura's Diary. We had a great time, and we're lucky enough to be doing it all over again tonight, only this time in the very cool venue that is The Masons Arms in Llanelli. If you read this in time, spread the word! As ever, we love hearing from you, so keep in touch: email: nineplanfailed@myspace.com Till next time - Dim |
