Darling Waste / Our Innocence LostPosted By from July 8, 2009Its funny how things turn out, isn't it?
Long story short; Milkwoodjam were kind enough to offer a support slot for Our Innocence Lost / Darling Waste last Friday.
We were already booked to play, but bumped into the bands the next night at Hobo's in Bridgend.
They weren't due to play Hobo's; it was very much a last minute thing, but how trippy is that?
Anyway, they put on a blinding show, and it was really encouraging to meet bands with such a professional, yet down to earth attitude.
It was exciting sharing the stage with both the bands - and I guess we couldn't have played TOO badly as Roger (their tour manager) kindly invited us to open for them the following night (Sunday) in The Cardiff Arms, Hirwaun.
To see both acts perform in such an intimate venue was a treat that none of us in NPF will forget in a hurry. It really inspired us, and was genuinely an honour to spend some time in both acts' company.
I'd urge you to check them out - particular fav's:
Our Innocence Lost (www.myspace.com/ourinnocencelost): Belong, Yours Cadence
Darling Waste (www.myspace.com/iheartdarlingwaste): Changing of the Seasons, Secrets safe with me
In other news:
*We're playing a heat in Milkwoodjam's Battle of the Bands tonight, up against Psycho Kiss and the intriguingly named Nodding Shakespeares. Wish us luck!
*Unfortunately the Tircoed mini festival this Saturday has been cancelled (due to bad weather reports), but I've been informed it will materialise in a revised shape later this year. Hopefully we'll still be able to play?
And finally:
Only ten days from our first recording session. About bloody time, eh? We've received a load of requests to hear our music via reverbnation, etc - I just hope we can do ourselves justice!
Till next time,
Dim
