Fear and dread

Posted By Dim from December 8, 2009
Ok, I'm using artistdata.com to write and publish this, and to quote pretty much everyone in the Star Wars films; I have a bad feeling about this.
Some distant warning bell is going off in the fog of my brain. Did I try publishing via artistdata before and something went horribly wrong?

I didn't use it for my last couple of posts, preferring to post using myspace's blogging tools. I'm sure there's a good reason I didn't use it last time. Ah well, maybe it will come back to me, maybe it won't.

Either way, if you're reading this, then I guess it worked, so hurrah!

No updates for a while, I would apologise, but in all honesty, not too much has been happening in Camp npf. But having said that, I do remember that last time I was begging you all to point your internet browsers to brfm.tv to watch our live session as it was broadcast over the airwaves and information superhighway.

I'm pleased to say that you did, in your one's (we were advised that the highest number of viewers during the broadcast shot up to 5). Thanks to those of you that did check us out, it was appreciated.

It was a really good night, fun and experience.
What surprised us most was the number of people giving up their time to make the broadcast happen...from memory, there were at least eight people in the studio - two on cameras, lights, sound and vision mixing, presenter - so although we said thank you on the night, thank you again to all at BRFM for making it happen.

I was given a copy of the session as broadcast...to be honest, the sound that accompanied the broadcast was variable in quality (due to bandwidth limitations, etc), but we're in the process of obtaining a much better sound mix, and when I've got it, I'll get about synching it up with the video that I've got,...I'll then chop it up and it will make its way to youtube and the like.

Talking about the much better sound mix, the more eagle eared (?) amongst you might have noticed some new tracks appearing on line. "Turn the radio up", "Survivors" and "Die, Dionysis" are available via myspace, reverbnation, etc.

Here are the links for the more lethargic of you:

We're terribly impressed by these three tracks - hats off to Peety and Jim from Lakeside Studios for capturing and mixing these so brilliantly.
Although they have been remixed, we're only really talking about levels, etc, and they are very much a true representation of how we played in the BRFM session.

Its also a thrill for us to hear a recording 'Survivors', one of our older songs, done justice.

I'm going to sign off now - keep it npf - next time (not so long between posts, honestly) - I'll be sharing exciting info about some of our 2010 plans.

Till then,

Dim

PS - I think I've just found out why I didn't use Artistdata.com for a while...when it cross posts to myspace, it loses all the formatting. D'oh! (you'll notice I've sorted it out for you though, so its all nice on your eyes, and all that)
