Not what I deservePosted By Dim from January 22, 2010Dammit - a memory like a fish is not a good thing to have. I remember having problems using Artist Data before, and what's more, I remember commenting on it! So why am I here again? Warning to you Artist Data...if I have to reformat every thing after this is published, I will NOT be happy. As if any of you a) know what I'm on about, b) anyone actually CARES what I'm on about. Doesn't really matter. Hello everyone! Belated Happy New Year! Hope you had a great Christmas. Me? Well, I made someone very happy, and also suffered some of the worst depression that I've had in some time. But, like Doctor Who and the year, I feel I've regenerated, and here I am - Dim v2010! After a short break over xmas, I'm pleased to say nineplanfailed got back together, refreshed, revitalised and ready for what the year ahead brings. Good energy in the band at the moment - we've been working on a new song for a couple of weeks now called 'Not what I deserve', and although its proving a bit tricky to nail, the end result will be worth it. Whilst still very much npf sounding, its a natural progression for us as it has a couple of time changes in it (something we've wanted to experiment with for a while), and nailing the way the vocals should be sung is a real challenge. We played our first gig of 2010 in The Loft, a great little venue. After a shaky start to the evening involving malfunctioning equipment, it actually turned out to be a great night. Short but sweet sets were played by Ignacio Lopez, Glass Leaves, Eject Pilot Eject, The Ruin plus ourselves...and hats off to everyone for being so cool, and cooperative. Whilst I remember, Glass Leaves are now looking for a new drummer, having parted ways with theirs - if you're interested, hit them up via their myspace page (www.myspace.com/glassleaves) Myspace's artist dashboard page tells me that we have new listeners in Mexico and Malaysia - hello if that's you! Get in touch! Leave a comment! It would be great to hear from you! Tomorrow is 23rd January - and that means that we're playing Treforest's own "Green Rooms" (http://thegreenroomsonline.co.uk/). We're playing with The Effect, Hadron Collider, and Lecarla. I haven't had chance to check out Lecarla yet - but ANY female fronted alternative rock is alright by me - they have a great online presence, check them out - http://www.myspace.com/lecarla Entry is free (definitely) and drinks are cheap (possibly) - so if you're in Treforest tomorrow night, you know what to do. Seriously, what else is there to do in Treforest on a Saturday night? Next Saturday sees us supporting Rebel Truce in The Garage (in The Uplands, Swansea). Hang on a sec, I'm going to try and insert an image and link...this could go horribly wrong - Woo! Would you look at that...it worked! Anyways, we're on first, so if you're coming, get there early for us and stick around for the rest of the show...should be a good 'un! Alright...that's enough for now. More soon (I hope!) Dim |
