Hi,

So! The first day's recording has come and gone. Frustratingly, we still haven't actually got anything for you to listen to at the moment.

Most of the day was taken recording drum tracks, and we managed to get drums recorded for four songs. We also started adding some guitar parts, but ultimately the clock was against us, and we ran out of time.

However, our next session is just less than a fortnight away...hopefully we'll have something to show you at the end of that session (even if it is a REALLY rough mix).

Its weird/funny...whenever I've recorded with other bands in the past, we've recorded and mixed all within a day. Utter madness, I can see that, but we've almost gone to the other extreme now! I suspect that we won't have 'final' mixes till the end of a third session. My wallet is hurting just at the thought of it! Ah well.

At least we're in good hands. Pez (Abertawe Studios main man) revealed some recordings of us that we couldn't actually remember making - recordings of rehearsing from some time ago - but he's sprinkled a little studio magic on them, just for fun's sake...

He played us a version of 'Happy?' that he'd added quite heavy delay onto the voice. What a difference! Very reminiscent of 'Sometimes' off 'Black Celebration' (Depeche Mode). As a band, its always interesting to hear and implement new ideas into the music. Can't wait to see what else Pez has up his producer/mixer's sleeves!

We're due to play our rescheduled heat for Gos Production's Battle of the Bands competion tomorrow night, in Milkwoodjam. I've been spreading the word, if you're in the Swansea vicinity and you have nothing better to do...turn up! Cheer loudly! Vote for us! Doors open at 730pm (I think).

Finally - Chris, our friend from Ebbw Vale's BRFM (Best Radio For Miles, dontchaknow) has invited us to play at their Festival of Music, to take place at the end of August. This takes place at Nantyglo RFC - we played there relatively recently as part of the RFC's Summer Fete, and had a good time, so looking forward to a return visit.
