One-Eyed Doll

I haven't written a recording blog in a long time!! That's because we've been busy moving the entire studio [and ourselves] back out to the haunted mansion in the country, where we made Hole, Monster and Sleep. Again, we shall record my songs amongst the ghosts, the horses and the scorpions. I love this place. It feels like a home to me. I guess I've spent so much time here, that I've gotten rather attached. There was a bit of drama that initiated this move that I didn't really see coming. In the end though, things worked out this way - and I'm glad. Jason and I will be staying out here for the remainder of the winter to record this killer One-Eyed Doll album and to finish several of my other ones. The Threejinator will be here tomorrow to lay down some bass fishing!

It seems like it would be lonely way out here in Texas Chainsaw Massacreville, but I'm in good company and really appreciate the seclusion. I've been having some weirdo issues back in Austin, a little too close to home, and there's plenty of space to clear my mind. Today Vincent from Austin 420 Magazine came by and got a preview of some stuff we've been working on.. I even did One-Eyed Doll karaoke/interpretive dance for him and Jonny Flash and Jason on the songs that didn't have vocals yet - in my new blue and silver leotards and USA flag sunglasses. I'm certain sure they were impressed.

Jason is editing drums. I'm going to go poke him in the ribs with some pliers to make sure he's giving it his all. Withholding food seems to do the trick, but I'm always looking for new methods to keep the boys in line.

Okay I checked, and he is in fact giving it his all. He didn't respond well to the poking, though.. It made him stop working. Okay, now he's working again. Excellent.
