Another Jerk

Posted By Rachel Williams from May 18, 2009
Tonight was another jerk back to reality...but this time, it was not only eye-opening but it was healing and heart-breaking and beautiful, all at the same time ;)

I just got home from the Memorial Benefit concert for Bruce Holloway.  I was honored to have been asked to perform along such an incredible line-up, full of his friends and some of the BIGGEST singer/songwriters in the business.  Period.  I was blown away!

To see so many people pack in 12th & Porter like that...to see the slideshows of photos on the big screens.  To see people laugh at stories and cry at these songs that just tugged straight at the heart...it was the perfect tribute to such an amazing individual.

A big thank you to everyone that made it out tonight and to all the other performers...you were awesome!  I was glad to celebrate Bruce with you all.

So now I'm sitting on my bed, it's 1am.  I'm singing demos for 4 hours tomorrow.  I need sleep. I can't really even take up my bed though, the other half is a mountain of clean laundry that I have yet to fold and put away.  I've been so busy, I feel like I haven't even seen my room, or my house much for that matter lately.  But I'm not complaining.  Busy keeps me happy ;)  The CD is officially done...mixed, mastered, the whole works.  I'm very happy about all of this.  Now we're just working on the re-vamp of the website and MySpace so stay tuned!  We're also running a lot of cool contests right now, so be sure that you check them out and enter to win FREE CDs!

Like I said in my last blog...I have a TON of shows coming up so  check out the schedule and try'n make it to a couple if you can!

I have a big one coming up this Saturday morning that I could really use your attendance/support at!  The band and I (THREE guitar players, keyboards, bass, drums...go-go dancers) will hit the stage for the Jo Dee Messina Music Row Race at 9:45AM (early, I know but well worth it!)!  The performance will start after the completion of the 5K race and the stage is located in the Hall of Fame Park (right behind the Sommet Center on 5th Ave).  The run is benefiting St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, is sponsored by Cracker Barrel, and hosted by Jo Dee Messina.  You won't want to miss it!  All performances are FREE of charge too!  This could potentially be a pretty big deal for me, so if you can roll yourselves out of bed early enough on a Saturday..I sure would appreciate it OH SO MUCH!

Okay, that's all.
I must sleep.

What a night.
