"Beach 92.7 FM Radio Feature"

"That's what's interesting and entertaining about Run Rhino, they are a different sound."

"Good stuff guys, very good stuff."

"You are not the average band. You're not the average garage band, and are very well studied."

"You can accomplish a lot of stuff musically and lyrically, and that's what entertains people."

"What I love about the music of Run Rhino is that it takes you on a journey."

"I told you ladies and gentlemen. Two great songs. They're both journies, and they do show the ability musically and lyrically of this band. I love bands that stand out, and ... you don't slip into a particular genre. I think a lot of people in todays music are looking for something that entertains them, that takes them somewhere. When they hear the song, they're different at the end of the song then at the beginning of the song. That's something that with you're studies and workings together, as a result, have come up with something that accomplishes that."

"You better keep your eye on Run Rhino because there's going to be a lot of great things happening."

"Run Rhino Interview at Aj&dbs"

Q. How did the project come into existence?

A group of us met up at the music school at Stetson University. We talked about some influences and realized we had some common ground. From there we started covering our favorite songs and proceeded to channel that energy into our own style of music.

Q.Who are the members of the band if any and please tell us about it?

There are 4 band members. Philip Logan is our lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and sometimes even bassist. He's a quiet classical guitarist and electronic musician by day, and intense rock band front man by night. Jonathan Lee Smith is the lead guitarist and back-up vocalist. He also plays classical guitar by day, and uses his classical training to write the beautiful melodies behind Run Rhino. Alex Ceserani is our bassist, keyboardist, and back-up vocalist. He's a humble prodigy of multiple instrument madness. He's an Italian import and the foundation of the tasty grooves of Run Rhino. Eric Baum is the drummer, back-up vocalist, and bassist. The best way to describe him is "mad man." He gets coined the nickname "animal" at many shows, and if you see his drum solo you'll know why.

Q How would you describe your sound/genre?

High-Energy Rock and Roll with infusions of styles from around the world.

Q. What formal training or previous experience do any of the members have?

Each members has formal training at the university level studying classical and jazz. All of us have also been gigging musicians for several years, taking part in large ensembles as well as our own endeavors.

Q. Are you working w/ a producer on your upcoming album?

No. We are currently self-produced.

Q. Who would you say has been the biggest influence on the bands sound or that you have used as

inspiration for your music?

Top influences include Led Zeppelin, Muse, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Q.What advice would you give to others starting out?

Do what you love and the money will follow. Passion is key to surviving in this industry.

Q. Where can people go to learn more about you and hear your music?

www.RunRhinoMusic.com

www.facebook.com/runrhino

www.myspace.com/runrhino

www.twitter.com/runrhino

www.reverbnation.com/runrhino

www.youtube.com/runrhino

Q. If you could play anywhere in the world or with anyone you wanted where and who would it be with?

I would love to play at Wimbledon Stadium with Muse. I've seen videos of them playing there, and it's sheer madness.

Q. What has been your greatest experience so far either individually or as a whole?

We got to play the American Music Festival in Daytona Beach this year. It was a lot of fun to play on a massive stage on the beach to a crowd of screaming people. Festivals by far are some of my favorite gigs. They are the best to connect with a massive number of new people and to get to know some of your fans.

Q. Do you have any upcoming events or news you would like to tell our readers about?

We are releasing our first EP titled "Run Rhino: The First Run" at the end of this month. Check any of our websites for details on how to get a hard copy or order a digital copy through Itunes, Amazon, etc.

Q. Where do you see yourselves or hope to be in about 5 years?

Uniting people all over the country, or even better, the world. We spend countless hours on each song we write to try and see how we can relate to people. We don't believe that music should be about genres or sub-genres, it should be about having a good time and expressing yourself. Life is hard, and real music should reflect the ups and downs life incurs. We want to give people something to listen to that helps them remember why life is so special.

Taking Notes

Who or what inspired you to take up music?

When I was 7 or 8 years old, I was at a Super Bowl party. The house my family was visiting had a drum set. My father is a big fan of "Frankenstein" by Edgar Winter, so I was familiar with the drum solo. I picked up the drumsticks and started wailing to what I remembered out of the solo. It was love at first jam.

What was the most unusual or memorable gig you've ever played?

The Deland Dog Parade (the Mardi Gras on Main Street and Barkalee Dog Parade). It's not every day you get towed through downtown on a float, surrounded by little pooches dressed in Mardi Gras costumes.

What musician/celebrity/historical person would you most like to have dinner with?

George Carlin

What was the last book you read?

"This is Your Brain on Music: The Science of a Human Obsession" by Daniel J. Levitin

What CD/tape/music is in your car/home stereo/iPod right now?

311, "Omaha Sessions"

What is your favorite movie?

"The Blues Brothers"

What was the best concert you ever attended?

Bela Fleck at the House of Blues in 2007. It was three straight hours of supreme musical proficiency. Two words: musical euphoria.

"If I didn't play music, I would . . . ":

Be a mad scientist.

"I'd sell my soul for . . .":

Freedom. - Daytona Beach News-Journal

"Run Rhino Kicks Off AMF 2010"

Throughout the 9-hour event of continuous music, die hard fans stood the heat index that topped 100 degrees during certain portions of the day. Local band Run Rhino kicked off the event with a set of popular rock tunes and original songs that set a strong tone for the day. R&B artist Chris DeMontague followed with a special appearance of his three new singles, set to hit radio this month – all were well received by the crowd. The first shining revelation of the day was also the first artist to be introduced by Jonas, Suite Caroline. With her dynamic stage presence and strong performance, she truly dominated the first third of the event. Opening for pop sensation Honor Society, was local teen sensation Chris Via whose rock solid performance inspired the longest merchandise and autograph line of the day. Jonas protégés and pop sensations, Honor Societyclosed the first half of the concert series with a stellar performance, bringing down the house full of fans that had long awaited their performance. Overall, the first half of the program was designed for families and teens – audiences and organizers alike were thrilled with attendance and performances. Later in the afternoon, bounce houses and interactive zones filled the boardwalk park with kids and families. - Daytona Beach News-Journal

Bio

Run Rhino delivers first class musicianship to audiences
yearning for a true rock sound. Formed from a group of
classically trained musicians, Run Rhino emphasizes
instrumental proficiency and performs a wide musical
range of original compositions and energy-fueled covers
inspired by the sensory sounds of Led Zeppelin, Muse, Red
Hot Chili Peppers, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Rage Against
the Machine, Coldplay, ACDC, Radiohead and more.

Like many groups, Run Rhino started humbly, walking to
gigs in 6 feet of snow--uphill both ways. They kept warm
under blankets made out of toilet paper and those little
twist ties that keep your bread fresh. Not that they ate
fresh bread, of course. They just had a bag of twist ties.
Run Rhino’s unique mix of Original, Classic, and
Modern Rock unites fans of all eras. They have opened
for national acts such as Lifehouse, and Starship.
They have been well received by diverse audiences
through their music and live showmanship. The band
sets itself apart through intricate song-writing; each
member contributes his unique style to Run Rhino's final
sound, creating eclectic music that reaches across genres.

Talent, hard work, and a twist tie of luck have lifted Run Rhino to regional notoriety as they continue to connect with fans and continue their mission to Push Music Forward.
