SaeLah

SaeLah is a Louisiana native. An affinity for the arts, mainly music, poetry, and acting, was developed in him at an early age when the decision was made by his mother, to not send him to the neighborhood school up the street from where they lived, but rather to send him by two buses at age five to the academic and performing arts magnet school across town, as the school was named the best elementary school in the state. “She saw something in me that others, even I, couldn’t see and she wanted to broaden my view of the world and introduce me to things outside of the neighborhood where I grew up. And because of her prowess then, I am able now to effectively communicate to my peers, whether urban or suburban, and not miss a beat.”

SaeLah developed a love for music early on as well. “My father has been a DJ for over 30 years, so growing up there was ALWAYS music in the house,” he recalls. “Whether getting ready for church on Sunday mornings, or whether I would see my father tapping his foot with big studio headphones on, listening to the next big hit, there was always music around. So naturally, I gravitated to it.” At age 11, SaeLah started writing poetry and even started writing his own songs, and since has written thousands of verses. He started performing in church and in talent shows early, and has since transitioned to taking his show on the road, as he has just finished a music project he can not wait to share with the world. “I just want to use my gift of words to glorify my Creator, and edify His people.”

Poet, author, songwriter, musician, motivational speaker, gentleman, scholar, lover, fighter, and now actor, SaeLah is one to look for in the coming times as he promises, this is only the beginning. He currently resides in Atlanta, Ga.
