HUNGRY FOR LOVE TOUR – MAINE, NEW YORK, WEST VIRGINIA

First off, thanks to Jeff Harris for coming out and taking some photos this weekend! Check out the gallery below. Then check out his website.

What a great week of the Hungry for Love Tour! We started way up in Lewiston, Maine, and if you’d like to know, Sanctus Real likes it up there. People are always friendly and the shows are always great. This time around, they treated the entire tour with fresh lobster for dinner. They went out and caught it in the ocean that morning!

This is the guy who ran the dinner, and he was awesome! He was a nut (a good nut)…the kind of guy you want wrangling up your ocean food. He made each of us pick out our lobsters, name them, and then throw them in the pot. When it was time eat, he taught the class you could say, on how to do it properly.  Ps. It’s…um…messy, and approximately 5 minutes after squirting myself in the face with lobster water, we had to go to a VIP meet and greet. I’m sorry for anyone who was there and I smelled like lobster water. It’s not my typical smell, I promise.

I named mine after the author, Stephen King, because he lives in Maine, and I felt that if anyone could appreciate the sentiment of being forced to name the animal you’re about to eat, it would be him.

So anyway, the next night was in Rochester, New York. I was told it was one of the biggest shows so far.

Again…an incredible night.

Here’s a photo Mark took with his iPhone. I think everyone is there, except Josh from the Afters.  It’s probably for the better because he’s too good looking…

Alright, what else can I talk about with this tour? It’s too good to not tell more stories.

Every day is sort of a treasure hunt. Where is food? Where is a shower? Where is a ride to Starbucks? Where is Mark? About 4 weeks ago, Pete and I committed to doing the P90x workout program, so one of our new treasure hunts is to find a sufficient room to exercise in. Since every day is a different workout, we need different types of rooms accordingly. Rochester was yoga day. Yes. Yoga day. Wouldn’t you just love to walk in on Pete and I doing yoga? No. That’s right. And we don’t like it either. We’re out of shape and not very stretchy, but it’s part of the program, so we feel obliged to stick with it. Anyway, to minimize the publicity, we try to find secluded rooms for this one. For the rest of my life, Rochester, New York will always hold a spot in my heart as the place where Pete Prevost and Dan Gartley did 90 minutes of yoga together in a dimly lit racquetball court room.

Sort of ridiculous, right?

But kinda awesome.

Ok, what else…

Oh, we had a sleepover with Mike from Leeland. We stayed up waaay past our bedtimes watching movies. We shared a blanket. What else do you need to know!?

And then we made it to Philippi, West Virginia. It snowed! The snow stuck to the ground. I wore my Coleman flannel (also featured in photo w/ Stephen King). I love my Coleman flannel.

That’s about it for this past weekend. Coming up on Friday, we’re playing in Cleveland (finally!). We hardly ever get to play there, and I have no idea why. It’s so close to Toledo. In my college days I lived in that nick of the woods. I’d love to play there more so I can visit my old friends.

Alright. That’s all I got for now. Have a good one!
