Bio

Sarah Parker is recognized by her peers, as an exceptional independent recording artist whose musical stylings are influenced by multiple genres that include; country, rock, gospel and folk. From her birthplace on the southern tip of the swampy bayou in the Everglades & Florida Keys, across America to the finger lakes region of upstate New York and onward to Buffalo where she resides alongside the world-famous “Falls of Niagara,” Parker is rolling down the musical highway on a mission that exudes universal love, for all that is.

Her family roots are deeply engrained in hippiedom and entangled with nature, as were inspired by her family, who also influenced her on many levels, including nurturing her passion and respect for Mother Nature and Father Sky. Sarah was home-schooled in a loving home, that was handcrafted by her Father on his personal mill and made out of Cypress trees, in the Big Cypress National Preserve. In her formative years, she was no stranger to newspaper reporters who were curious about the unique lifestyle of her and her family.

Her Father was a charismatic figure, the son of a preacher, a songwriter himself and her first musical influence. His eclectic tastes and steadfast philosophies instilled knowledge and insight on a vast number of topics and experiences that include; Dylan and Hendrix, equality and respect, spiritual beliefs, Native American traditions, gospel hymns, Buddhist meditation and folk festivals, to name a few. Along with her own personal discoveries through the journey of life, she often reflects on music like that of Linda Ronstadt, Dolly Parton and the incomparable Patsy Cline. Sarah says, “Thanks to my Father’s teachings, I’ve always felt like an old soul in a young body, the wisdom of which I wholeheartedly share in my songwriting.”

Her deep-rooted love of family continues with her husband, the renowned bass player of Native American (Seneca) descent, music producer and Buffalo, New York Music Hall of Fame inductee, Robert “Freightrain” Parker”. Freightrain produced her delectable debut album, “Strawberry Moon.” The album is a fine example of Americana, featuring 14 infectious tracks of original material. From “Gypsy Rose” to “Straight From the Bottle,” multiple songs from the record are receiving radio airplay in Spain, Sweden, Canada, Germany, Chile, U.K., Australia, Turkey, Finland, Portugal and Russia. “Strawberry Moon” is receiving glowing reviews from many publications including; No Depression Magazine and Gashouse Radio and is making a deep impact on her growing audience, globally.

Sarah Parker’s lush, passionate and country-esque vocal qualities capture the attention and warm the hearts of listeners, far and wide. Her classic country influences are strong throughout the Strawberry Moon album, that blends together many flavorful influences. The record contains stellar performances by acclaimed session players and their vintage instruments, that brings a classic, retro, deep, real, earthy vibe to the table. A collection of timeless songs!

From coffeehouses and listening rooms, to gin-joints, theatres, festivals and music industry showcases and conferences, Sarah Parker is enthralling audiences far and wide with her personable musical mosaic and creative songwriting. An unforgettable voice married with meaningful songs, that touches the hearts and souls of all who listen. Parker continues write prolifically and anticipates a new album release in 2019.
