If you have to compare Sista Whirlwind to any artist she would be more like Wu Tang meets Lauryn Hill . She is a writer, lyricist, singer, emcee and performer; not to mention world champion in Kung Fu and acrobatics. Sista Whirlwind is the first femcee to combine Hip-hop and martial arts, all in one show stopping act. She is Hip-hop's shero taking no prisoners as she stakes her claim among the great mc’s.
Born in Alabama, Sista Whirlwind was raised primarily in Florida. As a child, she started performing at the tender age of 5. At age 14 she began developing her skills in Choung Nu Karate. When she was not training, Sista Whirlwind was found huddled in playground ciphers learning the fundamentals of Hip-hop and Hip-hop became her escape to glory. Sista Whirlwind's glory became more than just words when she became the first African American female to win a World Championship in Kung Fu. She also took first place in weapons and forms during the battle of The Atlanta Otomix Star World Championship (black belt division). Sista Whirlwind Her notoriety within the world of martial arts and acrobatics was almost simultaneous with her rise in hip hop. Her musical accolades include opening for Motown recording artist The Boyz, Hip Hop artist Dead Prez , Sony Record's Lauren A and legendary rap artist KRS ONE. Most Recently she Performed Delray Beach NBA celebrity Bash and She Open up for Smoke DZA tour.
Rap and Hip Hop pioneers around the globe love her sound. In 2011 she was featured on Lewis Parker’s Shark album along- side hip hop legend MCM, John Robinson aka Lil Sci and Shabaam Shadeeq. On April 2011 Sista Whirlwind performed for a crowd of 3500 people attending The Annual Breast Cancer Benefit at the Miami Dolphins Stadium. Sista Whirlwind has made her mark on the scene throughout South Florida. Fans around the globe cannot get enough of this sister. They eagerly await her first release "Windstorm," in 2015.
