Bio

Trent Gray (Born September 20, 1994), Also known as $koobyD, is an American recording artist, songwriter, producer, and A&R. In 2016 $koobyD released a single titled The Weekend. The song was about spending a weekend relaxing and indulging in stoner activities. The mellow hook blended well with the melodic cadence of the verses which contributed to the ambient sound of the song. After the release of that single $koobyD generated a buzz which led him to release countless other mixtapes. and EPs. Following his move to California in 2018 $koobyD released a project titled Welcome to Califonia. Welcome to Califonia conveyed his introduction to the state. "Kreepin" represented his state of being "off the radar" and not giving out his location. When it came to the women in California $koobyD let it be known in "Knockin" with his bouncy flows and catchy hooks. Welcome to California represented a new wave of sound for $koobyD and he owned every bit of it. When it comes to lyricism and wordplay $koobyD does not disappoint. Top Dawg Ep showcased his ability to pick up a pen and thoroughly execute every track. The Ep was exclusively produced, mixed, and mastered by long-time friend and music producer Mr.Pia Classics. The duo together has proven to feed their audience the musical nourishment that they ask for time and time again.

April of 2020 teamed up with DJ Gren8de for their second installment to the Outer Space Field Trip series. OSFT Vol. 2 had a  spacey ambient sound with trap flavor. Every song brought something that contributed to the masterpiece released by the Artist/Dj duo.  "Believe In Me" set the tone for the tape with $koobyD flowing over a beat that sounds like you are walking thru space. If you look at the album cover long enough you will feel it.  $koobyD showcases his likable personality with " No Enemies". The song represents how $koobyD doesn't see himself having any enemies because of his loyal and respectful nature. "Stay On Your Paper" set $koobyD apart with the motivational "Stay on your paper" chant. The catchy hook, bouncy flow, and light 808 drum sound brought this song to life as $koobyD motivated the listener. Within the same year, $koobyD released an Ep called Wintrr. $koobyD took to a darker trap sound on Wintrr but that didn't keep him from giving the audience something to bounce to. The project was produced, mixed, and mastered by $koobyD detailing his versatility not only as an artist but as a music producer as well. As of recently, $koobyD has started off the 2022 year with two projects released one titled 85 Degrees in February and the other Belmont Shore. 85 Degrees In February has a relaxing vibe that reminds you of a day around the marina. The project consists of three tracks, in which each of three finds a way to put you in a relaxing trance. Belmont Shore is $koobyD's most recent release and showcases his growth as an artist. From start to finish sonically and lyrically this is $koobyD's best work to date.  There is no question about $koobyD's ability to create and establish great music that not only serves a purpose now but will in the future.
