   So the time is here, and Sliotar is going around Europe once again. We will embark on our journey on Monday morning from the Dublin port, cross Wales and England, another ferry over to Zeebruge and on Tuesday night it all startsJ

  The 2009 tour is going to be the biggest and hopefully the best tour we have ever done. It will take us to Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Czech, Austria, then back to Czech, Germany, Belgium and we will finish off in Holland.

  Sliotars set is as tight as always, and the organic growth in the music is going full steam a head. What thirteen years ago started as a “bit of a laugh pub trad band” has now grown in to a fully matured Irish folk-rock ambassadors. “Every show is like a battle for us, adrenalin pumps through your body hundred miles an hour, and it does not mater if you’re playing for 10 or 1000 people, we won’t stop until we have every one in the audience on our side.”

  This summer’s show is going to be even more energetic, sweatier party that will draw all sorts of emotions out of you. And of course there will be just the right amount of beer fueled mayhem as well ;-)

  But as always the road before we take to the road has not been an easy affair… For the past few years we have been traveling with our dear tour bus, 1986 Mercedes 608D. But it was getting tired, as all our mechanic friends around Europe do know. It was a good transport, a good home away from home and a great party house. So sadly this spring we realized that it was just not cost effective anymore. But we found a nice replacement for it, about ten years younger Japanese people carrier. This one actually would go faster than 80km/h and just about fit all our equipment in it. So we were all set, got the car serviced and maps loaded to satnav. But just a week before the tour on a short test drive, the head gasket blew! Now once again we have gone to our mechanic friends, who are working pretty much around the clock to get it working. So fingers crossed every one! We do have a back up plan, but it will be expensive and will push Sliotar even deeper in to the black hole of dept.

  This is life of Sliotar though, and we have grown tough enough to get through obstacles lice this. And something like car trouble would not stop us from touringJ

   But all of you people who will be coming to see us in the next six weeks, we hope you will support Sliotar by buying our CDs. This is the one big thing that keeps us on the road, pays for the fuel, ferries, food, Mechanics… And for those of you who already have bought them, we say big thank you! You got us this farJ

   And let’s not forget the warm up for the tour, this weekend in the Porterhouse in Dublin. Saturday 5pm and 7.30pm and on Sunday 6pm and 9pm. Come and wish us luck for the tour, and have a drink with us.
