St. Patrick's day and other stuffPosted By Sliotar from Dublin March 11, 2010Hi there, So the winter tour is gone and done. Once again thanks to you all for coming to see us in Denmark, Germany and Belgium. We had some wonderful concerts and can't wait to get on the road again:-) But for now it is nice to sleep in our own beds. The tour was eventful to say the least. Denmark had some of the worst snow in years while we were there. But Tomas Somrs made it sure we got everywhere safely. Thanks Tom:-) When we got to Germany, we drove through a snow storm, the motorway nearly disappeared in front of us. And by the time we got to Frankfurt, the snow was gone. We also played in lots of new venues on the tour and made lots of new friends:-) Oh yeah, and the drive from Germany to Belgium was wild... We drove through one of the worst storms to hit Europe in years. There were trees falling on the road, and the wind forced our car off the lane several times. The next morning we were watching news in a bit of a shock as we realized how bad the storm was and the damage it had done across most of Europe. All I can say is well done Des. Speaking of which, I know I will get killed for mentioning this, but our drummer Des turned 40 last week:-) He is still resisting the social network world of facebook, but you can send him messages on his myspacewww.myspace.com/gorevan or on our websites guestbook. (Sorry Des;-)) Now to next week. So the St. Patrick's day is here once again and this is the 15th year Sliotar is performing at the Porterhouse for the Paddys day. We will start at 2pm and at half three we will rush off to the Guinness storehouse where we play at the Source bar on the 5th floor from 4pm to 6pm. after this we will rush back to the Porterhouse where we will play until about 10pm. There is a great Thin Lizzy covers band playing after us, so it should be great night! Also we will be in the Porterhouse this weekend on Saturday and Sunday so hope to see you there:-) The preparations for the summer tour are full steam ahead. There are already quite few dates confirmed on our website http://www.sliotarmusic.com and more to come soon so keep checking it regularly:-) Great spring for every one! Sliotar |
