Son & Thief provides a unique, chill sound to the indie rock music scene. The melancholy yet captivating lyrics are guided by appealing, high vocal melodies with gritty but smooth guitars, ambient keys, and a laid back but driving rhythm. The group from Athens, Georgia pulls musical influence from artists like Death Cab For Cutie, Local Natives, and My Morning Jacket. The four piece consists of Shane Toriscelli on vocals, guitar, and keys; Austin Macdowell on drums; Deane Lawton on guitar; and Jacob Nesler on bass. The band was progressively formed in 2014 and soon after collaborating together on Toriscelli's songwriting they released their debut EP "Cardinal" in February 2015.
