"Citrus teen singer/songwriter has sights set on country music stardom"

“Crystal River's Sophie Noelle has music in her blood. Day and night songs run through her head. Music is her life. "I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't play music," she said. "I'd be lost." The up-and-coming country singer/songwriter is only 16. "Some people like sports," she said. "I can't play sports so I like music and I put everything I have in music." Noelle is no stranger to the spotlight. She plays gigs all over town and even out of town at places like the House of Blues in Orlando and the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville. When she was 8, Noelle performed the national anthem before a Tampa Bay Lightning game. Since then, she has kicked off many pro sporting events here in the Bay area. Now, with three original songs already recorded and a full album in progress, her dream is to hit it big. "It's fun and I want to do it all the time now," she said. "A country girl with big dreams"

“She’s an up-and-coming country singer who dreams to perform beside the biggest stars in Nashville. But, for now, Sophie Noelle Robitaille — stage name Sophie Noelle — is a 10th-grade student at Citrus High School who sings beautifully, accompanied by her acoustic guitar and keyboard. “My passion is country music,” As for artists she admires, Sophie said, “I like Miranda Lambert or Carrie Underwood and want to perform music. I’m never going to be those people. I’m going to be Sophie,” she said. “I like old country music a lot, how they put their heart into it like Loretta Lynn did,” she added. “I love writing and performing country because this genre tells a story. Many of the songs are about the singer’s life and that is what I want to do — put my touch into every song,” she said. “I write songs about my life and things that make me feel,” she said. “I want my fans to feel the music and feel some type of impact, but I do enjoy playing my favorite musicians (songs) too — just with my touch on it.”

Sophie Noelle will be playing at Pine Street Pub in downtown Inverness tonight from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. and at the Crystal River Mall on April 27 from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. and plans to start scheduling appearances at more venues in the greater Central Florida area.

“My dream is to be a singer and to perform. It is my passion to do something in music no matter what,” she said. - Citrus County Chronicle

"Local teen strives to be next Taylor Swift"

“A local Central Florida teen is gaining lots of attention-- all because of her talent as a singer and songwriter. Sophie Noelle is a normal teenager and high school honor roll student during the week, but on the weekends, she moonlights as a country music star.

Noelle recently performed covers and some of her own original songs at the House of Blues in Disney Springs, and even managed to pick up a few more fans. "Juggling school, homework, extra activities, lessons and then practicing, that's a really long day," said Noelle. "But it's worth it in the end."

When it comes to her writing process, Noelle said she uses her real-life experiences. "Well, most of them are about boys that I liked and normally it doesn't end well, so that comes up with a good song," said Noelle. She is completely at ease doing live performances, even in front of 19,000 people at a Tampa Bay Lightning game. Ultimately, she hopes her music touches and inspires those who listen to it.”

"Like that song, 'Hold Me Close,'" said Noelle. "It could be about anything -- like a soldier leaving and coming back, whether you miss somebody -- it doesn't have to be about a boy. People can relate to it in different ways and put their own story on it." - CBS
