Stuart Smith is an Americana artist from Illinois who’s sound meshes the stripped-back sensibilities of Townes Van Zandt with the full band, organic power of Bruce Springsteen and Jason Isbell.
Leaving a decade long life as a minister, Smith built a loyal grassroots following with his raw voice, intricate guitar work, and honest lyricism. Since 2017, he has played over 150 dates a year as either a solo artist or with his band. Working and performing with artists like Jim Lauderdale, William Fitzsimmons, Ha Ha Tonka, Rosie Flores, and The Secret Sisters, he has found himself equally at home in an intimate coffee shop and the legendary Ryman Auditorium.
His most recent release is The Sun EP, a collection of personal songwriting that was recorded completely solo at the iconic Sun Studio in Memphis, TN. A follow up to 2018’s full band album War Horse, The Sun EP has been met with international acclaim and airplay with Americana UK awarding it 4/5 stars.
His personal songs, brilliant instrumentation, and engaging storytelling offer a unique and welcoming live event.
