Superfly Sal

Sherard Anthony Lawson, (born October 4, 1988) better known by his stage name Superfly Sal (often stylized Superfly $al), is a Caribbean-American rapper, songwriter  & model. Hr was born in Waterbury, Connecticut & is currently based out of Brooklyn, New York.

The name Superfly derived from Curtis Mayfields score entitled "Superfly" from the 1972 motion picture. Sal is made up from his first, middle, & last initial used as his nickname.

Chartering the tri-state area & Atlanta, GA. The young visionary had the opportunity to model for Good Wood NYC in 2011. Doing catalog shots, online promotional videos on You Tube, & covering Good Wood's spring & fall look books in 2012. Sal was featured in 3 tear sheet ads with Respect Magazine, (a Musinart Publication). Volume 3: Issues 3 & 4, covering Summer/Fall seasons in 2012. Volume 4: Issue 1, covering winter season transitioning into the beginning months of 2013. He was featured in the Claw Money x Good Wood NYC Collaboration promo in Spring 2013.

The multifaceted individual wanted to challenge his artistic capabilities to a higher level. Sal developed his passion to emcee. Starting his career as an independent artist in 2013 performing his first single entitled "Stunt."

Musical influences range Slick Rick, Big Daddy Kane,  Jay-Z, Curtis Mayfield, Blaxploitation films, Miami Vice, Lil Wayne, Vybz Kartel, 70’s Soul & Funk, 80’s pop & 90’s hip-hop.

Since then Sal has been developing his craft, been producing under the pseudonym of Sallie Mayfeel, as well as his Luxe Gang entity. With the help of close friends & colleagues. Sal has began recording in studio his up & coming debut EP titled "The Uprising" slated to release early 2016.

Sal has a deep appreciation for the clever use of wits, wordplay & versatility of flows he incorporates into his own musical workings. A perfect representation of his ambitious, narcissistic, unorthodoxy humorous personality, random rendezvous, his infatuation & devoted love for women. Stay tuned.
