About Tall Heights

Boston, MA

Boston’s favorite acoustic duo, Tall Heights (Tim Harrington and Paul Wright) has wowed countless audiences on tour around Massachusetts, New England, New York and D.C.  With their catchy and refreshing flavor of acoustic/folk/pop, these two have left behind the banal indie/rock drums-and-bass setup.  Classically trained cellist, Paul Wright, soars soulful vocals over his cello.  Tim Harrington sports a striking vibrato above folk and rock influenced acoustic guitar.  Critics agree: it’s the harmonies–vocal and instrumental alike–that create something so much larger than two quiet fellows in their mid-twenties.

After months of small-town gigging, Tall Heights caught their first break when they were taken under the wing of producers at the storied Long View Farm Studios in North Brookfield, MA. Building momentum, Tall Heights worked their way onto the Boston club scene.  They recorded their debut album, “Smoke Signals,” at Long View Farm Studios, Spirithouse and Northfire Recording Studios in Western Mass in May 2009 and released it to a sold-out crowd of 200 in the heart of Boston.  Since “Smoke Signals,” Tall Heights has taken to the streets, wowing thousands at Boston’s Faneuil Hall Market Place for hours each summer day and touring extensively during the winter months. Tall Heights continues to carve a niche in Boston, New England and beyond and has elicited comparisons to Gregory Alan Isakov, Mumford and Sons, Andrew Belle, Brandi Carlile, Bon Iver, and Glen Hansard.
