The Bonds is the solo music project of Benjamin Finn, a singer-songwriter from Reading, MA. On stage, it transforms into a dynamic full band event filled with giant ebbs and flows. There are ambient, dream-pop melodies that gently build to sweeping post-rock crescendos and tense noise, often cutting back and forth on a dime. All of this is anchored by unnerving drones and hushed, nuanced indie rock. Inspired by both the frenetic atmosphere of The Microphones and My Bloody Valentine and the classic songwriting of Yo La Tengo and Galaxie 500, the live experience aims for communion, theatricality and catharsis.
Since forming the project in 2014, Ben has self-recorded and released one LP, In Transit, two EPs, Melt and Summit, and a compilation LP Triage this past July. After graduating this past spring from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, he plans to relocate to Boston in the fall and launch the project into full speed.
