About The Band... The Dead Pedals is a four piece band raised from a passion and love for music. The band for the most part hails from a beautiful sleepy little town right dab in the middle of Wisconsin. The band is very fond of cheese, beer, fine smoking products and a never ending quest to make great music.

All kidding aside The Dead Pedals are a tight nit group of rust belt rockers with a multitude of influences and styles… Each member of the band brings with them a unique taste and style that influences the music and makes it what is The Dead Pedals Sound…

The Dead Pedals are and in no particular order…
Matt Paulson Rhythm Guitar/Lead Vocals/Backing Vocals/Bad Jokes
Paul Burns Drums/Backing Vocals/Lead Vocals/Fancy Pants
Kimber Slice Bass /Backing Vocals/Main Vocals/Rock Goddess
Brian Nott Lead Guitar/Don’t Ever Let This Guy Sing

Coffee House Dead Pedals the early years…
The Dead Pedals were raised from the ashes of a failed band in the early spring of 2016. Matt Paulson and former lead guitar player Sean Locke rose from the ashes of the failed band to create what I would call the Coffee House Dead Pedals. Matt Paulson had his eyes on a drummer that he thought would be a good fit for the Coffee House Music. Before you knew it Paul Burns was convinced to play with Matt and Sean to round out a 3 piece version of the Dead Pedals… With this lineup it was a very stripped down version of the Dead Pedals with Paul playing a Djembe. The Coffee House Dead Pedals wore on for a good year until it changed…

On a day just like any other day The Coffee House Dead Pedals were doing an open mic in a sister city… This particular open mic had a full drum kit set up… So we decided to jam up our music a bit and go full drum kit… After that night The Coffee House Dead Pedals ceased to exist as both Sean and Matt were floored as the music came to life with every stick beat and bass beat from Pauls Soul…

The Dead Pedals still had the Coffee House in the back pocket and still bring it out to this day when the venue is small enough and calls for it but it just never compared to the energy created with a full drum kit…

Within this lineup a 5 track EP was created called Officially Unofficial. Sean Locke show cased his production prowess as he put a very heavy spin on the album and gave it a big production sound. The EP definitely reflected the Coffee House version of the Dead Pedals and to this day serves as an early testimony to the Coffee House Dead Pedals…

BK(Before Kimber)AK(After Kimber)
With a new vision of becoming a highly electric full on band Sean, Matt and Paul thought a bass player would round out the line-up nicely. Matt straight away had his eyes on an up and coming bass player we like to refer to as Kimber Slice… So the story goes the Dead Pedals got the very bass player that they targeted. They simply asked her and to their surprise she said yes… And so it went The Dead Pedals went from a Coffee House sound to a big sound over night with the addition of Kimber and Paul playing on a full kit…

Next Chapter...
As the band continued to practice and get tighter there was a disturbance in the force. Long story short Sean left the band on good terms in the summer of 2018. Sean was a huge part of The Dead Pedals sound and is sorely missed to this day. Another lead player would be required to avoid going back to being a 3 piece coffee house band…

Matt had worked with and co-written a few songs with an amazing Lead Guitar Player from Yakima Washington by the name of Brian Nott before and during The Dead Pedals stitch… Matt leaned on Brian for advice and a valued opinion when needed and kept in close contact with him… So it goes Brian was the first choice to replace Sean at lead guitar and was asked knowing that distance would be an issue… It was worked out in the arrangement that The Dead Pedals would take on guest lead players when playing live ocasionally, when Brian was not able to attend gigs due to the great distance…

Today and The Future....
The Dead Pedals are looking to record very soon in a local studio before the snow flies. A five track EP is in the works and should be available in the Fall of 2018. We are excited at our prospects and will continue to strive forward and release great music…
