The Kind

EditThe Kind originally formed in the light ages of 2001. Dustin Lentz, keyboardist and vocalist, had created the Kind with a couple of close friends - Steve Sadiqe and Cliff Johnson. Later joining the group was guitarist Phil Martin. The Kind had a unique form. Rather than using a bass player Lentz used a keyboard bass, like one of his influences, Ray Manazarek of the Doors.

Several years passed as the Kind successfully played venues around Wichita that were not accustomed to having original music. This said a lot about their original style and talent. It seemed as though Wichita was not part of the original music scene. Even to this day it's hard to find live music with original songs, unfortunately.

Nevertheless the Kind persevered. 

The Kind today has reformed with a completely new image while holding onto their original, unique sound. Dustin Lentz on keyboards and vocals, Tim Utter on guitar, Blake Ester on bass and Colby Aiken on drums. With the addition of a bassist and members with heavier stylistics the Kind gives the audience a harsher slap in the face resulting in a pleasuring burn and yearning for more.
