""Something Magical""

Some places have something that seems magical about them, like when everything is in line in the universe and pointing to that specific spot on the planet when certain people gather there. Those in attendance during Morgantown-born veteran roots-jam vets The Recipe’s 16th Annual Family Picnic, held the first weekend in September at Sunshine Daydream Memorial Park in the mountains of Terra Alta, WV, would argue that although the weather Gods did not cooperate, the Goddess of Music would flood the mountaintop with the blessed sounds of some of the top regional bands on the scene today. - Appalachian Jamwich

"Definitive Band"

"One of the definitive bands on the summer festival circuit and at venues across the nation for nearly a decade, The Recipe have made performing live a way of life.
- Lee Crumpton, Homegrown Music Network - Homegrown Music Network

"Family & Friends"

"In the "Family and Friends" spirit of The Grateful Dead, Delaney and Bonnie and Willie Nelson comes one of the most original and refreshing bands on the roots-rock / jamband scene today."
- Jambase

Bio

Considering the Recipe has been around for 17 years, it certainly has had its share of ups and downs along the way.
Some of the ups have included: becoming a chartered member of the Homegrown Music Network's Hall of Fame in 2006,
having 5 previous album releases gracing this distributor's best seller list for over a decade; appearing on NPR's
Mountain Stage in December of 2000; a lead story in Relix magazine in the summer of 1999 and a brief mentioning in
Rolling Stone magazine; and successfully maintaining a national touring schedule of 200+ dates a year
over a twelve year span.

The current band's solid line-up has been going strong for 3 years and has recently finished up their new CD.
The band has a unique sound that hints subtly to it's yesteryears while putting a fresh new foot forward,
infusing acoustic and electric guitar and vocals by Joe Prichard, fiddle by Mike Mitchell, saxophone by Jon Banco,
thumping bass by Diana Burton, and body-moving drums and percussion from Tom Kirk.
Not to mention the velvety vocal contribution from Shannon Jones. Her song-writing partnership with Joe Prichard that began
in 2008 has been the driving force behind the band's recent resurgence.

It is undeniable that The Recipe's new sound finally has the right ingredients for an amazing live experience for fans every time and the staying power to continue rocking for years to come.
