Tony Scarbrough

ony Scarbrough hides behind no nicknames or cliché MC disguise. Born in Pittsburgh but bred in Detroit, a stomping ground for underground MC’s, during this early hip-hop era, Tony was a young battle emcee called “Frost T.”As Frost T, he began to make his mark in the legendary Detroit underground spot 1515 Broadway.Later he emceed at The Rhythm Kitchen, another legendary spot ran by Detroit’s own Maurice Malone. At that time, his reputation was well known in the Detroit underground. A cold “spitter,” Tony’s lyrics had content and much power.

Now, today he is even COLDER!This MC now uses the name he was born with, Tony Scarbrough. He decided to brand his own name in the Underground Hip Hop scene.  Tony knew being true to himself would take him to another level. He took his skills to form and built groups like “The Rat Pack” in 1994, the “Good Bad and Scurvy” in 1995 with “The Phoenix Awake.”

After releasing three street albums, Tony walked away from his marriage to his long time love in 2004. As time would have it, Tony chose to reconnect with his first love four years later. In 2008, he began crafting a new beginning as a solo artist and recorded a plethora of songs.  Now, this long time underground veteran is back and Tony is preparing to unleash a load of creativity and flow to the world.
