From the midst of suburban New Jersey emerges a reggae sound creating its own element. Far from the shorelines, the band began their journey in 2013. Playing nearby bars and venues looking for a good time and a story to tell, the group developed a strong local following. Just as the smoke began to rise, the band found itself parting ways. Now, the group is back with a new line-up and is looking to share its updated sound with the masses.

With three releases of late 2018 including “Right Back”, “Home”, and “I do” the Waylaid sound is built to to make you groove with the rhythm and sing along to the chorus from the first time you hear it. Drawing from artists like 311, The Dirty Heads, Ballyhoo, and Slightly Stoopid, Waylaid blends together the vibes of reggae with a hip-hop groove. Sprinkled on top is a decoration of catchy pop hooks to keep you coming back for more. The formula catches the ears of every audience it graces and can be found making grown men move their hips on every dance floor that it’s placed in front of.

The band has been utilizing the cold months to write music and expand upon its new found sound to create a fresh live performance for 2019. While the soundscape is maturing, there’s no doubt that you can expect the same positive feeling in the new material.
