So....I was going to post the new "Make It Rain (Remix)" featuring B.o.B. when some dead prez came on and I started to feel guilty, like I was actively rottting our minds and souls. (Those in search for some mind rotting can click here though). Instead, I decided to roll with simply one of the deeper and doper project's I've heard in a minute; J.Y.'s "The Slave Shift: Waking Down". Lord save our souls.

In addition to rhyme work from the New Jersey buzzmaker J.Y. recruits Nipsey Hu$$le, Cory Gunz, Young Scolla, Michael Charles, the Fortunate Ones and Lure. Production comes courtesy of TooFortunate.Com, JRB, The Klasix, Woody, S. Dot, and Nard & B. - Refined Hype

Bio

Although his father worked with one of Hip Hop’s most beloved groups, J.Y. started his career with only a simple tape-recorder. Void of the carefully produced beats, star-studded features, and developed flow that he now has this New Jersey emcee began rapping at the age of six just so he could hear himself. By the time he was a teenager, he made up his mind that he wanted to rhyme, and after taking it seriously for the last few years J.Y. is working on his second project due out before Christmas of this year
