"HOT 97 NEW MUSIC: Danny Blaze - 'Pus(her)' [VIDEO]"

Hailing from Durham, North Carolina rapper Danny Blaze just released a brand new video to his track "Pus(her)" which takes him down the road of dating a woman who sold drugs and how it effected him.

Directed by HeadGraphix check out the story below which will appear on his upcoming EP Punk A$$ Dan which is scheduled to be released in 2016. - Hot97

"BEWARE’s Block: Ray Catchers"

Knowing the plug is one thing and dating the plug is another thing. But, being a male and dating the plug is the type of stuff movies are made of. Or, in the case of Danny Blaze’s “Pus(her),” a music video. The soulful but tough track finds the North Carolina rapper using intricate flows to explain how he’s shacked up with a female who happens to serve the whole city. A step above the trap queen and extra beautiful to boot. Danny has done well for himself. - The Smoking Section

"Danny Blaze- “Pus(her)” Video"

Durham, North Carolina rapper Danny Blaze is a freshly unique fusion of Hip-Hop and R&B. Before venturing on a music career of his own, Danny made a name for himself in the NC music scene as a part of the popular duo The Koolest. Looking for a way out of a gang affiliated lifestyle that almost cost him his life several times, his escape route was found upon discovering he could rap – well. Toting his southern energy, adding flare from his soul influence, favorite east coast, west coast, and midwestern artists garnered him the opportunity to open up for Big K.R.I.T., Juicy J, A$AP FERG, Joey Fatts, Key!, Smoke DZA, and radio play at Raleigh K97.5 FM.

Danny Blaze releases his cinematic visual “Pus(her)” based on his experience of dating a woman who sold drugs and the mark it left on him. “The inspiration for Pus(her) came from “Trap Queen” by Fetty Wap. I first heard it and immediately thought of her.

“Pus(her) is somewhat my response to “Trap Queen”. I wanted to show the not so glorious side of drug trafficking that Fetty didn’t talk about and what can eventually happen such as being incarcerated or killed,” recalls Danny.

Directed by HeadGraphix, Danny Blaze walks you through their time spent together and his lady hustling. You can expect to hear this lead single produced by Hak and more storytelling rhymes on his upcoming ‘Punk Ass Dan’ EP releasing the end of 2016.

Notable verses:

“The weight keep moving and the loot is getting better/ But in the back of her mind she thinks ‘I can’t do this sh– forever’/ Cuz everybody knows it’s only two places you end up/ Police tryna lock you down and n–s wanna shoot you for ya cheddar ” - AllHipHop.Com

"Danny Blaze – Pusher (Music Video)"

North Carolina emcee Danny Blaze unloads the HeadGraphix-directed visual for “Pusher.” Based on his experience of dating a woman who sold drugs, the small screen adaptation of his fan favorite cut pulls back the curtain on being in a relationship with a queen pin.

“The inspiration for Pus(her) came from Trap Queen by Fetty Wap. I first heard it and immediately thought of her. Pus(her) is somewhat my response to Trap Queen. I wanted to show the not so glorious side of drug trafficking that Fetty didn’t talk about and what can eventually happen such as being incarcerated or killed,” recalls Danny.

The Durham native walks us through the couples time spent together, on and off the clock. Check it out below and lookout for his upcoming ‘Punk Ass Dan’ EP releasing the end of 2016. Enjoy! - Bluntiq

"Danny Blaze – Ease The Pain"

Durham, North Carolina based artist Danny Blaze (of The Koolest) is a freshly unique fusion of Hip-Hop and R&B. Looking for a way out of a gang-affiliated lifestyle that almost cost him his life several times, his escape route was lit upon realizing he could rap — well. Toting his southern energy, adding flare from his favorite West Coast and Midwest artists garnered him the opportunity to open up for Big K.R.I.T, Joey Fatts, A$AP Ferg, Juicy J, Pac Div, Smoke DZA and more.

What Are Your Goals In The Music Industry?
I want to be an artist on a major label. I feel like a lot of musicians are ashamed to say they want to big huge superstars, but I do. I want to be in the music industry, making a living and being critically acclaimed for my work. Not just doing it as a hobby or being the guy that never made it that far.

What inspires you to make music?
I’m inspired by the fact that music has been possibly the only thing I’ve ever been great at in my life. I have been ok at other things like school and sports, but I had been told I was great at rapping/making music. That fueled me and inspired me to continue.

What makes you different from other artists?
I’ve been told I “Don’t sound like where I’m from”, which I believe makes me different already. But what further makes me different is how I like to take several styles of hip-hop and fuse them into one and use them in a unique way. I have a southern sound with a bit of a mid-west flow, but I do a little soul and blues style singing with it as well. I feel like no one (at least to my knowledge) makes music the way I do.

Who were your musical inspirations growing up?
I wasn’t even allowed to listen to rap until I was about 15 so all my early inspirations are 60’s and 70’s soul singers like Al Green, Smokey Robinson, Curtis Mayfield and James Brown. Its what my father listened to and probably why I love Soul samples in Hip-Hop. I was a HUGE Michael Jackson fan as a kid. When I got older I really loved Cam’ron and The Pharcyde.

Are You Working On Any New Projects?
Only releasing singles and videos for a few months, but one day (not sure when exactly) I’m going to release a project called “Punk Ass Dan”. I’ll explain the title further down the road to making that I suppose.
