What’s the story behind your artist name?: Always has been on a mission to support my family, my team and myself. Money is the only way that you can survive in this world, my first name is pronounced as Tae and people have always known me to hustle, chase the green and sell almost anything to pay the bills!

Describe your sound: East Coast Gangsta Rap, with a unique delivery full of “punchlines” & metaphors.

Who’s sitting in your audience?: Anyone who appreciates artists that stay true to their origin. May or may not necessarily be from the streets, or grew up in the hood but can relate to my culture. That young striving artist on the come up, who has had to fight adversity and overcome the same struggle is who I inspire through my material.

What’s your favorite press quote about your music?: Would be from Straight Official and their take of my single “Paranoid.” I was only given 2 stars with 5 being the best review. Empress Journee quoted that, “She couldn’t see herself turning on her ipod and wanting to hear my track.” My thoughts on this review are, how could this song not have potential to be great when it has been copied and reproduced by a major artist in the industry. This alone showed me that even the best are criticized when their material stands out from the rest!

The song or songs that changed your life and why: Notorious B.I.G – “Juicy” showed me that no matter where you were from, you could make it as he reminisce about coming from the slums to being successful from rapping about one’s personal life experience.

DMX- “Slippin” changed my perspective on how to handle my losses and excel above different obstacles in my path as I continued my journey.

Jadakiss – “Why” painted a visual dealing with political topics going on in the world today, that we as society should take heed to. Really shined light on how hard it is for our race and minorities to make it in a nation full of stereotypes/labels.

Describe the first time you walked onstage: Only thing on my mind was to remember every single part of my verse to my single. I was so focused prior to getting on the stage that I practiced the words the entire ride to the venue. Charlotte, NC 2012 I decided to take my career a further step at my first live performance thanks to the Coast to Coast Industry mixer.

Why did you submit to this year’s Independent Music Awards?: I really believe that I am past due for recognition of my work. By submitting my material to you all, it would show how serious I am about my career and how far I want it to go. I feel that my music and talent speaks for itself, although a huge platform like the IMA’s would help push my brand to the next level!

If you win and/or get nominated, how will you use your IMA honor to further your career?: I will use this as a marketing strategy to expand my brand, promote my message and get fans familiar with my voice. Having an award under my belt would create new opportunities with radio programmers, booking agents and music execs in the industry.

Who is your musical hero & what would you like to learn from them?: Cassidy, would be the one who stands out as a musical role model to me. As a hip-hop artist from the streets who rapped about the hustle and stayed true to himself he never changed his image for the money. He showed the world that you can still have a “gangsta” persona while staying true to your morals and beliefs.

"Straight Offiial review of Ta3$- Paranoid"

The Review: 2/5
Reviewed by: Aaron Shevack

This song threw me off because I don’t know what he smoking on. But from what I know about weed it does not leave you Paranoid. But that’s not here or there. The ad libs overpower the track. The song as a whole didn’t stand out to me. I couldn’t see myself just turning on my iPod and wanting to hear this track. It’s your everyday ode to weed and or other drug track.
