"Top Ten Thursday:"

“Lead singer Debra Guy crafts an emotional soundscape with both the band’s infectious hooks and her own arresting lyrics, resulting in an intimate conversation set to a catchy post-punk beat.” - B-Side Guys

"RVA Shows You Must See This Week"

"Charlottesville’s 7th Grade Girl Fight are adding some lovely indie sounds of their own to this bill, and that’s certainly a good thing. Earlier this year, this quartet released an EP entitled Someone Will Be With You Shortly, then followed it up with a live EP recorded during an excursion to Italy. That EP, Live And Unadulterated At Kutso Noise Home, revealed that this band is 0% studio trickery and 100% as good live as they are in the studio. And if this isn’t a bulletproof argument for seeing them at The Camel this Tuesday night, I don’t know what is." - The Auricula

"7th Grade Girl Fight is bringing the heat to Charlottesville"

“blending elements of pop and punk, overlaid with Guy’s velvet-smooth vocals.” - Caitlin Woodford - The Cavalier Daily

"Song of the Day: 7th Grade Girl Fight, “The Long Way,” from 7th Grade Girl Fight (Self-Released, 2021)"

Charlottesville, VA's 7th Grade Girl Fight might have a band name that could potentially conjure assumptions of smartass pop-punk or something, but that's absolutely not the case at all. In fact, their mature and meaningful brand of multifaceted indie rock balances a heartfelt aesthetic that sways effortlessly between soft/somber and catchy/high-energy tunes with sort of a "folksy" edge, if that makes sense. I suppose what I'm getting at is that there's a certain undercurrent to their music that makes me suspect they're drawing from a few influences that are a little outside of the central genres that I'm most familiar with, but... whatever they're doing to pull it off totally works for me! - Aversionline
