Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
It’s a daily practice. I have to constantly remind myself that I was given my vision for a reason and that I’ve put in the work to be where I am today. When I’m offered an opportunity that scares the shit out of me, but is something that I know is in alignment with my calling- I do it scared. Every time. Tell us about the inspiration behind your new single “On & On.”
I wrote “On & On” in 2021 when I got back from a family trip to Kemet, or what they call today, Egypt. I came back to LA to my home in Venice and was just on fire with all the energy I had just downloaded from frolicking around Pyramids, temples, and such. I ended up being courted by this guy as I was riding my bike down the boardwalk on the beach one day, and the encounter inspired me so much that I went home and wrote the song. - Guitar Girl Magazine

Aviana And The Pure Root is a genre-defying singer, songwriter, and guitarist blending rock, soul, and spiritual resonance. Based between St. Louis and Los Angeles, Aviana channels healing frequencies through her music—many of her songs are intentionally recorded in 432hz to ground and uplift listeners. A self-taught musician with roots in Paris open mics and ancestral mentorship, she emerged from post-grad burnout at NYU into a purpose-driven path of sonic and spiritual alchemy.
Her beloved days as an undergrad at Howard University however, instilled in her a hunger for life and a fierce determination to thrive in an industry not for the faint of heart.
Her 2020 debut EP PROPHECY showcased her talents as a composer, guitarist, and producer, and she’s set to release her next project, Love Spells, in July 2025 alongside an accompanying visual film. Her most recent single, "Dark Creation," co-written by LA's Michael Vest, is the sound of her dreams, blending rock with Ethio-jazz influences. She’s performed at top venues like LA’s State Social House, Molly Malone’s, and St. Louis’s Dark Room—and will take the stage at the iconic Viper Room on August 22nd, 2025. She has been featured in publications like Guitar Girl Magazine, Voyage LA, Bold Journey and Grimy Goods, among others. Aviana also founded Live While Living by Aviana, a wellness brand rooted in herbal healing, reflecting her deep commitment to holistic artistry.
With influences ranging from Prince, Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix to Willow Smith and Alice Coltrane, Aviana And The Pure Root is on a mission to raise the world’s vibration—one song at a time.
