Caedus is a three-piece Pop Punk/Emo band from Boise, ID. They formed in June 2015 when four friends decided they would start a band after recording an episode of their Just Nerd Stuff Podcast. The original members were Matt Mudd as frontman and bassist, Ryan Mulvaney on lead guitar and backing vocals, Alex Lange on rhythm guitar, and Dylan Mudd on drums. Caedus went on to play a few shows as a four-piece but in September, Alex had to leave the band due to scheduling conflicts. The band moved forward as a trio and has been making a name for themselves in the local music scene.

In the short time the band has been around, they have managed to play a handful of shows including a fundraiser for the summer fire in Idaho City, ID, the first Punkfest Northwest festival, and most notably, a full band guerrilla show in the heart of downtown Boise, ID. Caedus went into SACA Studios in October to record their first EP. The self-titled EP was released in November and has received a bit of attention. Their first track, “Everything I’ve Always Wanted to Say to Girls but Never Had the Guts,” premiered on The Return of the Disco Witch Hunt with DJ Frankenbryan mere hours after it was mastered at SACA Studios. They went onto the show the following week to promote the EP and Punkfest Northwest.

Caedus is currently working on promoting themselves and their EP, filming their first music video, and planning tours for Spring and Summer 2016. They’re also signed up to audition for Season 11 of America’s Got Talent in December. It’s not because they want to become reality TV stars, but because they believe any exposure is good exposure. Caedus will play anytime, anywhere, and for anyone. They just need their instruments, a few extension cables and power strips, and a functioning power outlet and they’re ready to rock. Expect to hear more about these three nerds who listened to way too much Sum 41 in high school in the coming months.
