"When I arrive at Mercury Lounge in the East Village, there’s a line down the block and a sign on the front door of the bar that says “tonight’s show: SOLD OUT”. When the doors open, I make my way to the front of the venue. Australian native, Dan Krochmal, opens the show. His angelic voice accompanied by an acoustic guitar he plays himself, makes me thankful for arriving to the show early. He plays a set of a few covers and a lot of originals, and gets everybody excited for the rest of the night with his tunes and witty on stage banter." - Stitched Sound

Bio
Australian-born singer-songwriter Dan Krochmal has been stunning audiences into silence since his arrival to the US. With an ethereal voice that soars across octaves, and poignant, vivid lyrics coming straight from the soul, Krochmal’s performances defy gravity.
Formerly an aspiring novelist (he completed an unpublished 92,000 word piece by the age of 17), Krochmal started teaching himself guitar chords after finishing high school and was instantly hooked. He soon realized that performing original music on stage was the perfect way for him to convey the narratives he had always felt compelled to write.
He embarked on his first US solo tour after being selected as one of ten acts globally to perform at a tribute concert for Jeff Buckley in Chicago. He visited New York and instantly knew it was where he needed to live. He moved from Australia to the East Village, and performed at many world-renowned venues such as Mercury Lounge, Rockwood Music Hall, the Bitter End, and Pianos. He opened for Reeve Carney (Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark, Hadestown, HBO's Penny Dreadful) at a sold out show at Mercury Lounge, and for Fatai at Rockwood Music Hall at the final show of her sold out US tour.
In 2018, Krochmal released a single called ‘Pride Before The Fall’ in response to the Parkland high school massacre. A live video of the song, performed in Times Square, garnered over 31,000 views in several days. He was invited to perform at the March For Our Lives rally on Long Island in support of the student protests.
Krochmal released his second studio album, "Avenues" in 2020. It features Lenny “The Ox” Reece on drums (Demi Lovato, Kimbra, Super Duper Kyle, DJ Premier) and David Cutler on bass (Iggy Azalea, SZA, JT Taylor).
In November 2020, Dan was scouted to privately audition for American Idol. After successfully completing two rounds of producer auditions, he was flown to California, where he performed for Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan.
In September 2022, Dan released “Tell Me I’m Alright”, the first single from his upcoming third album. He released the second single, "FOMO", on November 11th. He will be releasing his third studio album, "Home & Holding" in 2023. He is currently based in the Poconos, where he owns a recording studio. He produces all his own material, and also produces tracks for other original artists.
